Latin American countries sign legally binding pact to protect land defenders | Environment | The Guardian

 

 

The
killing of hundreds of nature protectors in recent years has led 24
Latin American and Caribbean states to formally commit to protecting
environmental leaders. This is a step towards justice for Indigenous
land protectors like Berta Caceres, who was killed in her home in
Honduras two years ago.
