Is the Spanish state more afraid of a broad mass movement than the armed ETA 20 years ago?

The "independent" Spanish judiciary can be quite absurd. The Supreme
Court judge in Spain, Pablo Llarena, had already refused to have his
arrest suspended for the Catalan presidential candidate of the
Republican Left (ERC) presidency, which he had previously granted to the
entire parliamentary presidency, and which also benefits six
ministerial colleagues. They were released, but face the same
accusations as Junqueras. Oriol Junqueras can not be transferred to
Catalonia after a new ruling by the judge on Friday so that the ERC lead
candidate will be able to attend the inaugural session of parliament
this Wednesday after Spain's compulsory elections.

Llarena explains this with possible "serious conflicts" that could occur
in the context of transport in protests, after all, the timing of
parliamentary sessions were known and it could come to demonstrations.
It's like the "grotesque" accusations of "rebellion" and "turmoil," as
leading constitutionalists see it. It must also be fostered for this
decision by the independence movement. Because they never existed in
more than seven years even with huge mobilizations. But it was given by
state security forces, which even acted in a well-planned military-type
operation against peaceful participants in a referendum with the utmost
brutality.
